Supre Foundation: Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef

Protecting and preserving the Great Barrier Reef for the next generation.

The Citizens team brings a diverse range of expertise from those that have been connected to the reef
for thousands of years, and those across the world who have a collective passion to conserve and
protect it for future generations.

In partnership with the Cotton On Foundation, we are pledging a minimum of $2 million to Citizens
over the next three years to support the protection and preservation of the reef.

Major reef convservation programs to be delivered include:

  • Install 700 MARRS reef stars, to provide a stable base for coral fragments to grow on damaged
    sections of the reef.

  • Coral spawning events, releasing 30 million coral larvae, helping to spur coral growth and
    boosting recovery.

  • Surveillance of 300 reefs to inform scientists and managers of any threats, priority areas and
    future project sites.

  • Deliver First Nations Youth Education Programs
